extreme performance, very low price

Strengths: it's the second fastest single core fx CPU to date, superseded only by the fx-57. 1mb L2 cache, newer core with stepping CABCE is basically the same thing as a fx-57. 90nm.

Weakness: it's the fastest SINGLE core cpu out there. dual core helps in multitasking, but applications like games don't always benefit from dual/quad core cpus yet. (some already do)

AMD's FX series of CPUS have completely unlocked multipliers and are cherry picked to be the best silicon that AMD makes. The latest revision to the FX-55 includes a 90nm die shrink, sse3 instructions, and massive overclockability - many people are getting 3.0GHz on air, and some have gotten 3.6GHz or more on phase change cooling. I got the CABCE, which is currently the most desirable stepping....

Please note this is a revision of...

Strengths: Raw power gaming processor.

Weakness: Athlon Fx-57 is coming out soon. Price will drop to around $700-$799 when it does.

Please note this is a revision of the 130NM FX-55. This chip is almost the same as the older version of FX-55. Only changes they've made are:
-Shrink to 90NM size
-SSE3 (Finally...)

Fast CPU

Strengths: Fastest affordable 939 processor. Easy to overclock. Runs fairly cool.

Weakness: Not a dual core.

Withe the money I saved NOT buying a dual core, I am taking my 3200 Venice and completing a second computer. That's MY idea of being able to multi-task! I have had this proc. running for 2 days and have only taken it to 2.73 on an Arctic Freezer 64 with Arctic Silver. I WILL be going higher! Idle temp a little high, (38c) but does not go over 40c under load. I need another intake fan on my case...

Best thing since the wheel.

Strengths: Fast, and is now relatively cheap! Big improvement over my 3200 Venice. Graphics much smoother, discs burn faster. Not any hotter than my oc'd Venice, (since I put an aftermarket cooler on it.)

Weakness: It can't go to work for me when I feel like taking a day off...Doesn't look good in black lace lingerie...Can't take the dog out for a walk...

I wish it was this cheap a year ago, but it was worth the wait! I will not oc this baby, cuz I hafta make it last many years! I already spent next year's salary on my two systems; I don't make much :(
